An inn at the foot of Mt Gozaisho in 1,300-year-old Yunoyama Onsen, proud of its own spring gushing 500 litres a minute. It insists on free-flowing source water, constantly refreshed, and the viscous alkaline simple spring is known as 'beauty water'. The big open-air bath opening onto the mountains through the seasons is the draw, especially in autumn colour. Day-bathing prices were cut in July 2026 for the inn's 60th anniversary: adults ¥700 on weekdays, ¥800 on weekends and holidays, children ¥400/¥500; open 10:00–19:30 (last entry 18:30), closed Fridays. Lunch (makomo udon and more) and day kaiseki plans with bathing are offered, and it pairs easily with the Gozaisho Ropeway or Aqua Ignis. About 10 minutes by Mie Kōtsū bus from Kintetsu Yunoyama-Onsen Station; about 20 minutes by car from Yokkaichi IC; 150 parking spaces.
An inn perched on a slope at Yunoyama Onsen in Komono, Mie, at the foot of Mt Gozaisho, proud of a bathing hall that looks across Ise Bay to the Chita Peninsula. Certified by the health ministry as a spa-based health-promotion facility, it admits day bathers without reservation — buy a ticket at the shop — for a modest ¥600 (children ¥300, infants ¥200). The water is Yunoyama's alkaline radium-bearing simple spring; from the indoor bath and panoramic open-air bath you get the Yokkaichi cityscape and sea at dusk and city lights at night. Riding the funicular-style incline elevator up the slope to the main building is part of the fun. Day bathing 11:00–20:00 (last entry 19:00); closing days are irregular, so check ahead. Restaurant and shop on site. About 5 minutes by shuttle (call ahead) from Kintetsu Yunoyama-Onsen Station or 5 minutes by car from Komono IC on the Shin-Meishin. Pairs well with the Gozaisho Ropeway — a soak after coming down the mountain.
