Yugawara Onsen Kogome-no-yu

A town-run day spa named after Yugawara's ancient name. Set on a rise above the Fujiki River near Manyo Park, with a large indoor bath, a mountain-view rotenburo, sauna, tatami lounge and restaurant. Admission drops to ¥600 after 19:00, so locals stroll the onsen street first and bathe in the evening. 12 minutes by bus from Yugawara Station to the 'Kogome-no-yu' stop.

Yutoro Sagasawa-no-yu

A ryokan-style day spa on a hill among mandarin groves, away from Yugawara's main street. The draw is a rotenburo with a sweeping view of Sagami Bay, lit up at night. Two bathrooms alternate daily between men and women, and the water is drinkable. Free tatami rest hall and restaurant. ¥1,380; bring a towel. Closed Thursdays except holidays, March and August. Bus from Manazuru or Yugawara Station.
