Ooedo-Onsen Monogatari Premium Atami is a large hot-spring hotel (the former Nanmei Hotel) halfway down the hill from Atami Station, and unusually for a downtown Atami hotel it takes walk-in day bathers in two slots, 7–10 a.m. and 15:00–24:00. With Atami’s communal baths vanishing one by one, it is a practical option: rotenburo, cypress bath and toiletries for ¥1,600 on weekdays, and the bath-plus-dinner-buffet plan is a classic Atami day trip. Prices have three tiers (weekday / weekend / peak) and fireworks nights close early, so check the calendar.
Tips & cautions
- Last entry 22:00. The morning slot (7–10) overlaps with hotel guests’ morning baths and can be busy.
- Weekends/peak days cost ¥400–600 more; quietest just after 15:00 on weekdays.
- Towels not included (¥330) — bring your own.
- Easy downhill walk from the station but uphill back; buses run to the station.
- The buffet plan must be booked ahead; your dinner slot depends on that day’s occupancy.
- Old reviews quoting ¥700–900 are outdated — now from ¥1,600.
Getting there
About 7–8 min on foot downhill from JR Atami Station (Sakimi-cho 8-3); 3 min by taxi. Parking available (paid, limited — check ahead).
